Books

Hi girls;

Well, I finished the Mitford series books, nine books, and I've been reading them since Florida on our trip. It was sad to finish them up because I've truly enjoyed them and the characters in them. Pam, I hope you can enjoy them as much as I have!

Dawna and Pam, you told me about the Glass Castle, I just finished it. Like you said, it truly is an unbelievable story. I can't imagine living that life, and it wasn't that long ago either!! WOW is all I can say, I look forward to passing this book on.

Love, Laurie

I just finished Half Broke Horses which is a prequel to Glass Castle. It is the story of Jeanettes grandmother. It was very similar to Glass Castle,worth the time to read but I kind of grew tired of it. Amazing what people live through!

I know. And to think this happened so recently, we just don't think of people living like that. Not sure if I want to read half broke horses or not tho

I also just read Half Broke Horses. I agree with Nancy. It was still a good read, you just can't expect it to be as good as Glass Castle. I'm not reading anything now because I am trying to clean out closets and drawers - however, I can't wait to dig into that next great book! Any suggestions?

I have been enjoying the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo books, have read the first two. They are mystery thriller sort of books.

Dawna, the girl with the dragon tattoo series is the one i was telling Patt about when we were in Westminister, my sisters loved those. I'm trying to read Eat Pray Love but I can't get into it

Eat Pray Love was good only when she was in Italy, then I sort of lost interest....

My sister-in-law is going to loan me the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I keep forgetting to get it from her when I am at her house. Everyone is reading it - they are making the movie now. It is cold and snowy here. I need to get that book and curl up by the fireplace!

Eat Pray Love - - I liked Eat and Love and skipped most of Pray!

First book - saw the movie - I liked it but there are some violent scenes that make you want to kill someone....wait for the second book....I think the second book is a movie now or being made? As always read the book first!
This is so fun to keep connected this way!
